Ronnie Morrison Retires
After thirty years of total loyal service, Ronnie has decided to call it a day.
In 1985 Ronnie Morrison took on the responsibility of the Harris Golf Clubs
Treasurer. Never giving in to modern technology, even up to the day of Ronnieís
retirement Ronnie refused the services of a computer. All book keeping being carried out by the aide of his reliable RED ledger. This ledger should now be a part of the golf Clubís archives as a historical book on serious booking; however, getting Ronnie too part with it, well thatís another matter.
Over the years, in addition to the day to-day handling the clubís finances. Ronnie also played a major role in the development of the Club, notably; The purchase of the land which the course sits on, redevelopment of the clubís premises which now provides a lounge area, better toilet facilities etc. These entire tasks requiring hours of time working behind the scenes dealing with applications for grant funding, in addition making sure the club was in a position to meet the cost of these developments. On many occasions during the clubís monthly committee meetings one could always rely on Ronnie to ask that final important question after some hours of debate forcing a full review of the debate.
From all at the Harris Golf Club a mighty thanks for the services of Ronnie Morris.
