Macmillan nurses golf challenge 2015

July 2015

Golf Talk Macmillanís Nursesí Golf Challenge 2015 On Saturday the 2oth June a marathon golf challenge took place At the Harris Golf club. Some months ago Billy Fraser, club member, came across the publicity for Macmillanísí Cancer Support 2015 Golf Challenge. The challenge, one team of four, to play 72 holes of golf, competitions are normally played over 18 holes. On the day, seven other Harris club members agreed to take part. The registered team was, Billy Fraser (Captain of the team) Taz Morrison, Eito Morrison, Cuna Morrison. Simon Hunt, Alan Gunn, James Dunn, and Chris Sutton made up the other two teams. The challenge teed off at 5 00 am and 72 holes was completed by all eight players at around 08 00pm! Other successes of the day, Taz Morrison scored a hole in one on the second hole, a hole considered to be one of the more difficult on the course. A golferís ambition to score a hole in one. Getting a hole in one proved not enough for Taz, as he went on to score a course record (scoring the lowest score in the Club). Getting back to the Macmillan challenge. The purpose of the challenge, to get as many sponsors as possible to donate money for this very important charity. What a success this turned out to be, at the last count over £3,500 had been raised. Guys, your efforts have been more than worth-while. This was a great achievement, very well done, to all eight players. To Billy for organising this special day, many congratulations.
